BRAKAR SUMMER CAMPAIGN
One of the most innovative public transportation companies in Norway is Brakar. The operator of Buskerud wanted to test a very interesting use case: replacing bus service with ridesharing.
The pilot cities were Modum, Sigdal and Krødsherad. The residents in these cities used ridesharing as one of the two transportation options. They set the first example in Europe for establishing the self-sufficient private/public fleet for shared mobility. Hundreds of trips were posted and in average each participant was registering 7 rides during the 2 months campaign. 35% of the rides were by repeating users.
